Description

Clairefontaine Pastelmat Pads are prized by professionals for their stunning performance with all types of pastels. Their unique surface grabs pigment so powerfully that colors show brilliantly and no fixatives are required to keep pigments stable. Pastelmat offers superior control for layering, blending, and fine line techniques. These pads also support wet media techniques with water or solvents, allowing artists to easily create underpaintings as the base layer of their artwork.

Made from cellulose plant fibers, Pastelmat Pads create only small amounts of dust, are gentle on artists’ fingers when blending, and can be used with foam and sponge applicators for painting and blending. These acid-free, pH-neutral pads are also economical — pigment abrades gently, so pastel sticks and pencils are consumed 30% – 40% slower than sanded papers.

Pads contain 12 sheets of Pastelmat card and have glassine sheet protectors between each page.
