With a traditional ¾” profile, these canvases are built for permanence and stability in applications where a lighter-weight stretcher bar is adequate. We start with a medium texture, 7 oz, pre-primed, 100% cotton duck canvas and then add three coats of acid-free black gesso for a final post-primed weight of approximately 10.5 oz. This canvas is then stretched by hand on solid wood stretchers and stapled on the back for a clean, paintable edge that allows for future re-stretching.
