PS106. Arnhem 1618 Printmaking Paper. Internally & externally sized. 100% rag, acid-free, with 2 deckled edges. 245gsm/90# or 320gsm/approx. 140lb. 22″x30″.
This new paper from Speedball is made for printmaking, but the semi-smooth, vellum-finish surface is also ideal for calligraphy and bookbinding. Made by Schut Papier, a mill near Arnhemp, Holland, that has made fine paper since 1618. This printmaking paper was a hit at the two Cheerio Calligraphy Retreats this fall. Samples were provided to several participants and to the instructors and all reported that it was an excellent paper for calligraphy. Angie Vangalis felt it is superior to Rives BFK (and is less expensive). The surface has a smoother finish, making it suitable for pointed pen work. Grain runs along the long side of the paper.
