These boards are specifically engineered for use with encaustics.The smooth, velvety surface is highly absorbent and heat-safe.Use them with encaustic alone or in combination with collage, oil paints, image transfer, mixed media, water-based paints, inks, graphite, or colored pencil. The treated, ready-to-use surface holds tight to layers of wax and collage without cracking. They have an Ampersand Hardbord core with birch plywood cradle.Made in the USA.
