How to Use Glaze Dipping Tongs
- Ensure your piece is bisque-fired and free of dust.
- Open the tongs and gently press the tips into the inner foot or rim of your piece—ideally where any slight marks will be least noticeable.
- Dip your piece steadily into your glaze bucket at an angle to reduce air bubbles and create an even coat.
- Lift and hold the piece over the bucket for a few seconds to let excess glaze drip off.
- Place the piece on a clean surface or kiln shelf to dry—touch up the grip marks with a brush if desired.
