Schmincke Horadam Naturals Watercolor – Lalvarit Violet, 15ml Tube
Lalvarit Violet is a muted, violet-brown tone with good lightfastness and semi-opaque characteristics. The pigment Andesite rock comes from natural lava flows. The igneous rock is grey but uniquely violet due to natural iron and manganese oxide components.
The natural pigments are sometimes slightly coarser in texture, which – unlike gouache – results in a rougher, usually slightly granular surface effect. The colors aren’t stiff but don’t flow as easily as traditional watercolor.
