Description
Peter Ompir was one of the gentlemen responsible for the rebirth of the art form
in the early 40’s. His style of painting was the first one I studied when I began
painting. His funny little folk figures were inspired by old Fraktur paintings and a
folklore figure called a Jersey Devil (from early New Jersey folk- lore). It is my
pleasure to share my interpretation of this style with you.
