Shinah of Crooked Calligraphy notes that the Leonard Hiro 41 is “a low-contrast nib that can add a little funk to your usual calligraphy style.” The nib is “springy, but not flexible.” While “the shape and thinness of the nib will add some ‘springiness’ to your calligraphy,” the “hairlines aren’t super thin, and you don’t get very thick downstrokes.” Shinah discusses in more detail her five favorite nibs (Nikko G, Brause Steno, Brause 66EF, Leonard Hiro 41, and Hunt 101) here: https:///blog/choosing-calligraphy-nibs. She teaches a very popular, 8-week, live-taught online class, Modern Calligraphy 101.
