Description

These oil-based etching inks are made from the finest single pigments and polymerized vegetable oil, offering the feel and working properties of traditional oil-based inks with the bonus of soap and water cleanup. No solvents needed!

Excellent for all kinds of intaglio printmaking including etching, engraving, aquatint, drypoint, and carborundum. These colors stay bright and clean when mixed. They dry like traditional etching inks, and can be used for printing on a wide range of papers with the quality, intensity, and precision of a traditional oil-based ink.

Choose from a variety of high-strength colors, including a set of process colors for CMYK printing or mixing. Every color in the range has a light fastness rating of 6 or higher on the International Blue Wool Scale. Speed up drying time by using a small amount of metallic drier such as cobalt drier. Use Safe Wash Oil to dilute inks and add Caligo Safe Wash Relief Inks Extender to control strength and transparency. Use Wiping Compound to modify the tack of the Safe Wash Inks.
