Da Vinci Hansa Yellow Medium artist watercolor is an excellent all-purpose yellow for a palette. Once dry, Hansa Yellow Medium is extremely close in hue and value to Cadmium Yellow Medium and is a great option for those who love Cadmium Yellow but prefer a less opaque application.

This single-pigment, mid-range yellow has slightly warm undertones that soften uniformly in washes into a primary yellow, but Hansa Yellow Medium’s warmth is so cheery that it’s beloved for its “sun yellow” appearance and its ability to mix a wide variety of natural greens, rusty oranges, and more.
