Made with a textured, absorbent surface that mimics cold press watercolor paper, Aquabord allows colors to retain their purity and vibrancy far beyond traditional paper. Unlike paper, however, its durable clay-coated surface lets artists lift, scrub, and rework color—even after it dries—without tearing, buckling, or warping. Ideal for glazes, transparent layers, and bold washes, Aquabord offers exceptional versatility and a resilient surface that supports the most expressive watercolor techniques.

High-Density Hardbord™ Core: Aquabord will not tear, shrink, or buckle even under heavy water application. No stretching or mounting is required making it a perfect surface for plein air.

Aquabord Panel Depths and Details

The Aquabord Museum Series Panels are available in a 1/8″ flat panel, or a 7/8″, 1-1/2″, or a 2″ cradled panel. The 2″ Deep Cradle eliminates the need for framing altogether. Stain, paint or wax the cradle edges and eliminate the cost of framing altogether!
